The working speed of overhead crane (EOT crane, Bridge crane) includes the lifting speed, the hoist trolley traveling speed and the crane running speed. The choice of working speed depends on a variety of factors.
First of all, the lifting weight, medium and small lifting weight overhead crane should choose high-speed to improve productivity, large lifting weight overhead crane should use low speed to reduce the drive power, improve the smoothness and safety.
Second, work level and use requirements, high level working, often used, high productivity overhead crane should select high working speed; low level working, the adjustment working mechanism can choose low speed. The overhead crane which is only used for equipment installation and maintenance, can use low speed, and also according to need, can apply two speed (fast, slow), micro speed or variable speed. The variable speed can make the working speed of 1:10 with any adjustment.
Third, work speed is also related to the overhead crane service space, long traveling, large lifting height should choose high speed. When the overhead crane is running a short distance, it is not appropriate to use high speed.
With the development of modern industry, increasingly heavy transport working overhead crane apply high speed, and more and more overhead crane which are used for installation and maintenance apply variable speed. For some special function overhead crane, such as quench operation overhead crane, there should be a rapid descending device; for the large lifting height overhead crane, in addition to the appropriate increase in the lifting speed, also can apply heavy duty with low speed, no-load with high-speed, or take measures to achieve a higher lowering rate to increase productivity.
