There are three common speed control methods for lifting mechanisms of overhead bridge cranes:
1. Multi-speed wound rotor motor
This motor is easy maintenance and high reliability, the power is larger than squirrel cage motor, can reach 55~75kW.
2. Differential planetary reducer plus double motor
This motor has a large speed range, can achieve heavy-duty with low-speed, light-load with high-speed, and it is high reliability, is commonly used on large-tonnage overhead bridge cranes.
3. Frequency control
The most advanced AC speed control mothod, easy to speed regulate and high reliability, can be zero speed braking and no impact operation. It can extend the service life of wire ropes and transmission components, is the future development direction of overhead bridge crane lifting mechanism.
